The trend: Voluminous, short-sleeve jackets
Why it's big: This softer silhouette, with volume in the shoulder or sleeve, replaces the streamlined, three-button blazer.
How to wear it: Consider this jacket your wardrobe's new best friend – especially where jeans are concerned. The key is to play with proportions: to create fullness around certain body parts and counterbalance them with fitted pieces elsewhere. If you have slim shoulders and a smaller bust, fullness in this area is flattering so go with a style with short, puffed sleeves; if you have broader shoulders or a larger bust, look for a jacket with longer, ¾-length sleeves and volume towards the cuff. Keep everything else you're wearing (including jewelry) simple and understated.

The trend: Romance, and lots of it
Why it's big: From lively floral prints to layers of ruffles, every woman likes to feel pretty.
How to wear it: The easiest (and most stylish) way to pull off romantic touches is to pair them with casual separates. Whether you choose a floral print shirt or a top with ruffles, denim is a nice choice to dress it down (keep it dark and slim). If a floral print or light tiered skirt has caught your eye, stick to a simple button-front shirt or t-shirt. Want to avoid color overkill? Try floral patterns in shade of muted black or white.

The trend: Bright colors
Why it's big: After a drab winter, spring is bursting with all the juicy colors of the rainbow – how refreshing!
How to wear it: First, with such eye-catching shades, choose simpler tops, such as a tank or sleeveless shirt. Next, find the hue that works best for you. For paler skin, warm blues and greens are great. Vibrant oranges and pinks look best on medium skin tones. If you have dark skin you can pretty much wear any shade, lucky girl, but lemon yellow is especially flattering. In terms of bottoms, choose shades of white, khaki and chocolate brown – they work best with vibrant colors.
