How many times have you flipped through a magazine, stopped on a picture of a sleek-tressed celeb and thought, “I want her hair!” Well, you’re not alone—who among us hasn’t gone to the salon clutching a photo of Jennifer Aniston? But we all know that between getting kids off to school and getting dinner on the table, there’s zero time left for those leisurely afternoon blowouts. So, we sought out Roland, owner of San Francisco’s hip Salon Elevation, to find out which low-maintenance celeb haircuts will enhance your hair’s natural beauty, whether it’s short or long, curly, or fine.

EASY-DOES-IT BOB
Who’s got it: Jenny McCarthy
McCarthy’s silky A-line bob works with medium-textured hair, which most women have, and flatters most face shapes.
Who should try it: New moms ready for a change—but one that’s not too drastic. “For women with infants, cutting their hair short is usually out of the question because they’re still a bit conscious of their pregnancy weight,” explains Roland. “But this style works well because it’s short enough to be flattering and not frumpy, but can still be pulled back.”
Styling tip: To smooth out wavy or textured hair, use a dab of anti-frizz serum before you blow dry. But since these products are oil-based, use them sparingly so you won’t have greasy tresses by the day’s end. For an edgier take on this cut, use a volumizing spray or mousse and a different brush than usual to give it a bouncier finish.
