Try it: Kiss Kids Grape Bubble Wash, $6Why it’s good for them: The fewer the ingredients listed on a product, the better, says Dr. Sandy Johnson, MD with Johnson Dermatology in Fort Smith, AK. Another good sign: when water is listed as the first ingredient. “Those that list alcohol first are too drying for tender skin.”
Why it’s good for you: Fewer ingredients can soothe grown up skin, too.
Double-duty: Some body washes can work well as adult facial cleansers.

Try it: Aveeno Baby Moisture Cream, $4
Why it’s good for them: According to Dr. Johnson, creams that are thick, greasy and plain are best. Those with a lot of color or fragrance should be avoided since they can be irritating to a child’s delicate skin.
Why it’s also good for you: Makeup, perfume and detergents can be harsh on adult skin. If you find yours is dry or prone to redness or bumps, try slathering on your child’s lotion – it could make a big difference.
Double-duty: Running freshly-moisturized hands over flyaways and frizz can work wonders.

Try it: Kiss Kids Knot! Detangler, $5, and Goody Ouchless Elastics, $4
Why they’re good for them: Besides eliminating knots and tangles, these sprays reduce friction and bathe strands with good-for-hair ingredients like aloe, chamomile and grapefruit extract. And seamless elastics help prevent knotty ends in the first place. With no metal closures, they slide off pony- and pigtails with ease.
Why they’re good for you: Think of these products as TLC for your hair. Because they reduce friction, breakage and knots, your strands are smoother and shinier.
Double-duty: A spritz of detangler on dry hair works as a good finishing mist.

Try it: Burt’s Bees Apricot Baby Oil, $8 - $12
Why it’s good for them: Combined with a gentle post-bath massage, moisturizing oil can help calm sensitive skin and soothe pre-bed tempers.
Why it’s good for you: Add a few drops to your bath for long-lasting skin softening.
Double-duty: Works as a cuticle softener when mixed with hand cream or rubbed right into nail beds.

Try it: Mustela Facial Cleansing Cloths, $6
Why it’s good for them: With a kid or two (or more!) on the go, wipes are integral to any mom’s hand bag. Skip the alcohol-heavy ones and try moisturizing formulas that won’t be overly drying for young skin.
Why it’s good for you: Surprise! – moms have accidents too!
Double-duty: Most wipes are good for makeup removal – waterproof mascara excluded.

Try it: L’Oréal Smoothie Shampoo, $4
Why it’s good for them: 2-in-1 shampoos are a must for any mom with limited time. And tear-free formulas rank high for keeping bath time fun.
Why it’s good for you: It works as a quick fix when you’re in a pinch, but don’t rely on it all the time, says Dr. Johnson. “Since the gentler formulas aren’t able to remove buildup from hairspray, mousse or gel, they tend to be more effective on fine, natural adult hair.”
Double-duty: Use it for hand washing delicates like bras and hosiery
